Demolition of old facilities of BefesaDesulfuración in Lutxana (Barakaldo)

BefesaGestión de ResiduosIndustriales, through its department Gestión y Descontaminación de Suelos, has executed in favor of BefesaDesulfuración the demolition project of the old industrial facilities of Lutxana (Barakaldo).

For the demolition of the historic plant, which has been completed within less the 4 months initially planned, it have been used 8 backhoes equipped with shears, electromagnets and blades, managed by a team of 15 skilled staff. During the work it has proceeded with the demolition of the sulfur silo, truck loading bay, stores, offices, workshops and, finally, the chimney, that rose 74 m high above the factory with 50 t in weight. It has generated more than 8,500 t of waste, which have been recycled, and has released more than 36,000 m² of land, giving value to an increasingly scarce resource as the ground.
